Grateful

My first goal each day is to remember the Son of God. I want to remember that he bore my sin, that he was tempted as I am tempted. He was weary, hungry, endured pain, faced an incomprehensible death and knew how he was going to die before he did. This grand story gets shoved to the back of my consciousness and every day I'm tempted to go my own way, to forget about anyone but my self. I'm shallow and unable to think past what's pressing on my mind now.

But when I remember the story that is bigger than my small world I get lost in mercy, forgiveness, goodness, justice, love, mystery, eternity, glory, bravery, risk, just to name a few. The God I love gave his Son, Jesus Christ as a personal communication of his character. Hebrew 1:3,4 says that "He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs."

Thank you Jesus for making your life a communication of what the Father is all about.
